Employment History

February 2013 to till date – Associate Professor, Department of Music, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and graduate theory courses, as well as possible courses for non-majors.

Actively pursue research and scholarly activities in area of expertise; teach elementary/general methods; organize, teach and supervise lab oratory/peer teaching experiences; supervise elementary field experience

Instructs students in  harmony, score and sight reading, composition, music appreciation, and provides individual or group vocal and instrumental lessons using technical knowledge, aesthetic appreciation, and prescribed teaching techniques.

Leads orchestra, groups in regular and special performances for Departmental Program, community activities, concerts, and festivals.

Collaborate with other faculty to teach foundations in music education and other courses as related to interest and expertise

Maintain a relationship with other institutions of higher education in the country as well as abroad, actively participate in professional music education organizations, and maintain an active professional profile on a national level.

Involve in cross-disciplinary collaboration in the School of Arts and with other programs on campus arranged centrally. 

Develop students’ interest in and appreciation of music through teaching theory, history and practical skills.

Develop course plan and teaching program to teach at undergraduate and graduate level in areas allocated by the Head of Department and reviewed from time to time by the Head of Department.

Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum.

Participate in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments.
