Research Interests

Remote sensing and GIS for geosciences studies i.e., Dynamics of land-cover & climate changes; Surface hydrology (quality and quantity within the river, lakes); Coastal erosion-accretion; Forest coverage change monitoring (mangroves, Sal, and homestead); Mineral deposit delineation along coastal belt and river bed; Heat flow and hydrothermal alteration from thermal area (volcanoes, forest fires, fumaroles); Urban heat island etc.

 

Project experience funding acquisition:

[1] Principal Investigator, Project titled: Monitoring the effect of urbanization on landuse-landcover, land surface temperature and urban heat islands of Dhaka city using satellite imageries’. Funded by University Grants Commission, Bangladesh (2014-2015)

 [2] Associate Investigator, Project titled: Evaluation and monitoring the consequences of saline water intrusion and land erosion-accretion on the south-central coastal ecosystem of Bangladesh 2014 to 2016’.
