Teaching Experience:

  • At Present teaching: International Business Transactions (at Masters Level) and Fiscal Law (at Honours Level) in Dhaka University.

 

  • Taught: Business Law in both under-graduate and post-graduate level in the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) since 2005 to 2014.

 

  • Adjunct Faculty member to the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) on Human Rights at Undergraduate Level from 2009 to 2013.

 

  • Working as adviser to the Department of Law, City University, Dhaka from 2011 to onward.

 

  • Delivered periodic lectures and conducted seminars from 1990 to 1993 in the Institute of International Relations, Kiev, Ukraine (As Ph. D. Fellow).

 

  • Taught Russian Language as foreign language in the courses in the Institute of International Relations, Kiev, Ukraine.

 

  • Worked as an Assistant Professor from 27.09.1999 to 12.12.2000 in the School of Law, Queens University, Banani, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Taught – International Law, Business Law, International trade Law, Criminology etc.

 

  • Taught: International Law (in Honours), International Economic Law (in M. Phil. Course), Criminology, Law of International Institutions (at Masters Level), Jurisprudence, International Business Transactions, Business Law, International Human Rights Law, Refugee Law and Fiscal Law.

  1. Pupilage and Participation in Seminars and Workshops:

 

  • Worked as Ph.D. fellow under supervisor of Professor Muravyov V.I. at the Faculty of International Relations under Kiev State University, Ukraine from 1993-1997.

 

  • Participated in the WIPO Asian Training Course For Trainers and Instructors on Intellectual Property, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization in Beijing, China from July 23 –27, 2001.

 

  • Participated in workshop titled  “Review of Legal Training of Government Officials and Private Entrepreneurs in Private Sector Infrastructure Development (PSID)” jointly organized by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA) from December 30, 2001 to January 3, 2002, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

 

  • Participated in a roundtable discussion on “Fact Based Teaching and Legal Research”, Organized by The United States Educational Foundation in India held at Kolkata, April 18 - 19, 2002.

 

  • Participated and presented paper on “Multi-Fibre Arrangement (MFA) Phase-out and Bangladesh Garment Sector: A Survival Challenge Scenario” in the 25th Anniversary of Management of Interdependence Series on “Local Challenges, Global Responses: Making Trade Work for Development, organized by Center for Applied Studies in International Negotiations,” Geneva, Switzerland from 18th November to 29th November 2003.

 

  • Participated in the 2nd South Asian Law Schools Forum for Human Rights Conference in Kathmandu, Nepal, June 2004.

 

  • Participated in the 3rd South Asian Law Schools Forum for Human Rights Conference in Delhi University, India, November, 2004

 

  • Participated in the "Training of Trainers Programme on Competition Policy and Law Issues" Organized by Unnayan Shamannay and CUTS International in the collaboration with Bangladesh Investment Climate Fund (BIFC), Dhaka, July 2009.

 

 As Trainer:

  • Instructor to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th 12th, 13th 14th 15th and 16th Human Rights Summer Schools Organized by Empowerment through Law of the Common People (ELCOP) since 2000 to till date.

 

  • Programme Coordinator and Trainer  in the 'Refugee Law Training Programmes' commissioned by the UNHCR and organized by ELCOP in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013 and 2014.

 

  • Delivered lectures in Human Rights Summer schools (HRSS) on the topics: International Human Rights Standards; International implementation mechanism of  human rights; domestic implementation mechanism of human rights; justiceability of economic, social and cultural rights; Rights of the minorities; Refugee rights and international human rights nexus; Trial of war criminal under international law, Unrecognized human beings: the hijras of Bangladesh etc.

 

  • Supervisor and Instructor in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th 7th and 8th ‘Community Law Reforms (CLR a marginalized community based research program carried by the law students) respectively carried out since 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 2007 and 2012 organized by the ELCOP. 

 

  • Conducted training on Clinical Legal Education for the law teachers and students in the 1st and 2nd Summer School of Law in Iran in 2009 and 2010 respectively, jointly organized by Centre for Human Rights Studies of Mofid University and  Khorasgan Islamic Azad University of Iran and Empowerment through Law of the Common People (ELCOP) Bangladesh.

 

  • Programme Coordinator and Trainer in the 'Human Rights Awareness Building  Programmes' for the Sanatals and Garos (two prominent indigenous community of Bangladesh) commissioned by the Academy for Educational Development/USAID and organized by ELCOP in 2005 and 2006

 

  • Coordinator and Trainer in the “Street Law (Protidiner Ain) program organized by ELCOP.

 

  • Conducted Trainings on “Human Rights and Related Issues” for National Human Rights Commission Officers and Stuff, Commissioned by NHRC, 22-23 May, 2014 and  2015.

 

  • Conducted Training for on “Human Rights and Issues” for Police Officers at Police Staff College, Bangladesh, Commissioned by NHRC, 07 June, 2014

  • Consultant to the Bangladesh Society for Enforcement of Human Rights (BSEHR) on "Study on the complications of Public Interest Litigation in Bangladesh".
