Prof. M. A. Akkas has been active as a university teacher, author of a few books and many articles. His main books are : Human Resource Management, ontemporary Issues in Human Resource Management, Effective Utilization of Human Resource - Key to Improved Productivity ( LAMBERT Academic Publishing, Germany). Since 1985  he has been a faculty member in the Department of Management at the University of Dhaka. He received higher education in Management at University of Dhaka and AIT, Thailand. Prof. Akkas maintained uniformly excellent academic results (first divisions/ first classes) in all the public and university examinations. He completed an MBA degree from the AIT, Thailand in 1990 and received the dean award. 

His fields of work are Knowledge Management, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior.  He has to his credit over sixty research papers published in refereed journals.   His articles have been published in many leading academic and professional journals such as Journal of US-China Public Administration,Journal of Business and Economic, USA Journal of Management Review, Thailand, Journal of Industrial Relations, Journal of Business Studies, Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM), Journal of International Relations, Journal of Management, Review, etc. He acted as the editor of ‘Readings in Management’ sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC). He participated in ten international conferences. He finished an MBA degree from the AIT, Thailand in 1990 and received the Dean award.  He has extensive business and professional experience over 30 years.  He has made many lectures on management issues in the public and private business organizations of Bangladesh.  He has been engaged in teaching in the MBA program of many leading Private universities of the country. Prof. Akkas maintained a uniformly excellent academic result (first divisions / first classes) in all the public and university examinations. He has been acting as a Provost of Mushin hall, Dhaka Univeristy since 2009.
