To date, more than 80 research papers have been published in the nationally & internationally reputed journals

Most of the research projects carried out over the last 10 years are in the areas of Food, Environmental and Medical Microbiology more specifically in the fields of Food safety & Quality by our research group. In depth studies including molecular characterization of antibiotic resistance and virulent genes of different food and water borne pathogens have been carried out in our laboratory. We have recently finished some research projects on the quality and safety of export oriented shrimps and bio-safety of organic fertilizer funded by the GOB, Water Aid Bangladesh and NFRI, Japan. Currently, we are focusing research work on Food safety and Food hygiene of different fresh and minimally processed fruits and vegetables as consumptions of such produce are increasing day by day under the financial support of the GOB and the UGC. Food borne illness caused by pathogenic and enterotoxigenic bacteria and viruses due the intake of fresh produce is on the rise all over the globe. A number research articles related to food safety and  food  borne illness have already been published in different national and international journals by our research group. Other researches that we are currently focusing on are: the effects of climate change on the genotypes of some representative bacteria found in different regions of Bangladesh and searching for novel antibiotic producing Streptomyces spp.
