Being a marketing academic, I want to progress as a social marketing specialist in a reputable institution to advance my educational excellence through conducting research, teaching and consulting where I can represent my work with integrity and professionalism. My ultimate goal is to utilize my knowledge, expertise and potentials to influence the behaviours of the society members to bring social good.

Area of Interest: Marketing in general and Social Marketing as well as Marketing for Non-profit Organizations in particular.

Research Focus:

My area of interest is in social marketing where I want to work for the members of my community to influence their behaviour for promoting good initiatives and discouraging bad practices which in turn will improve their quality of life in a social environment. Currently, I am doing research on how social marketing can be used as an effective quitting tool against smoking amongst the adult smokers of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Achievements:

  • Arranged different competitions with intra department students to develop their marketing skills through DU Marketing Club since joining.
  • Along with my team as a moderator of Marketing Debating Club, became champion of 11th Nafia Gazi Inter-Department Championship, the most prestigious debating event in University of Dhaka.

Affiliation:

  • Working as a registered volunteer of a NGO, Dwip Unnayan Songstha (DUS) since 2007 and currently involved in reporting on “Baseline Survey and Mapping Vulnerable People under Community Capacity Development Project” at Hatiya island of Noakhali district in Bangladesh.
