Research

  • Completed a three and half year research project in “Design and synthesis of novel small-molecule inhibitors to down-regulate STAT3 signalling pathway for cancer therapy” under the supervision of Professor David E. Thurston and co-supervision of Dr. Giovanna Zinzalla at Cancer Research UK Protein-Protein Interaction Drug Discovery Research Group, School of Pharmacy, University of London, United Kingdom. The research work was conducted to fulfill the requirements of Doctor of Philosophy degree.
  • Completed a sixteen month research program titled “Chemical and Biological Investigations of Stereospermum chelonoides” under the supervision of Professor Choudhury Mahmood Hasan, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka. A total of seven compounds were isolated and among them two were found to be novel. The research work was conducted to fulfill the requirements of M. Pharm degree.
  • Carried out a research project in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka and submitted a dissertation entitled “Pharmacological Investigation of Euphorbia hirta”.

Training/Seminar/Workshop

  1. Attended a Training Workshop on Online Journals for BanglaJOL Editors. An INASP workshop in collaboration with the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and Rajshahi University 17 - 19 November 2012.
  2. Presented a poster entitled “Novel small-molecule inhibitors of Interleukin-6 (IL-6) signalling” at 22nd EORTC-NCI-AACR symposium on “molecular targets and cancer
    therapeutics”, held in Berlin, Germany from the 16 -19 November 2010.
