Details of Dr. Golam Mohammed Bhuiyan
RESEARCH AREA OF INTERESTS
 Main interests are in the area of structural, thermodynamic, atomic transport, thermal transport and electronic transport properties of liquid and amorphous metals and their binary alloys. So far, we have used, in the study of the above properties, the well established pseudopotential theories and, well tested embedded atom method (EAM) in conjunction with the Variational Hypernetted Chain integral equation theory of liquid (VMHNC), Gibbs Boguliubob variational method, thermodynamic perturbation method (WCA, LWCA etc.). In the study of the thermal transport properties the two level tunneling model has been used. Currently, we have developed an efficient electronic transport theory which describes the electrical resistivity from the point of view of different mechanisms ( Normal and Umklapp type) involved in the scattering. The predictability of the theory is now being tested. Preliminary results are very encouraging. Recently we have been engaged in Obital Free AbInitio Molecular Dynamics simulation method (OFAIMD) studies of static and dynamic properties of liquid and amorphous metals and their binary alloys. Segregation of binary alloys from the static method and OFAIMD is being studied currently. The study of Bose condensation and relevant Casimir forces and critical behaviour from the aspects of Statistical Mechanical theory is also a subject of my current interests.
One of the most important results of my research work is the prediction of the structure of liquid titanium (Ti) theoretically (Phys. Rev. B53 (1996) 639) which has recently been confirmed by the levitation tecnique experiment done in the Washington University (Phys. Rev. Lett. 93 (2004) 0378021).
